Global Hire & Services commenced operations in Cairns and Townsville in January 2010 and have proudly been providing local businesses reliable and high-quality EWP equipment since.

In December 2023, Global Hire became a subsidiary of Height 4 Hire Pty Ltd, proudly Queensland owned and operated. This partnership, allows more industry-expertise and quality service for both businesses, across the state.

Our team of qualified service technicians are dedicated to ensuring frequent machine inspections are performed, including pre-hire, quarterly and annual services. We also offer machine service and maintenance for businesses that own machines.

Partnership with Height 4 Hire

In October 2023, Global Hire combined forces with Height 4 Hire in Brisbane to become one powerhouse company. Between both companies, we service North Queensland and South-East Queensland.

Ken Baker

managing director - brisbane

Ken is one of the Founder's and the Managing Director of Height 4 Hire, in Brisbane. He started Height 4 Hire in 2010, after over a decade of experience in Managerial positions in the hire industry. Having worked alongside Ryan and the Global Hire team for years, in early 2024, Height 4 Hire joined forces with Global Hire to solidify a successful partnership.

KB continues to lead two locations in Brisbane, as well as the Townsville and Cairns branches, and when not at work, you can find him at the local rugby club, GPS, the Brisbane Lions, Wallabies or cricket with his friends and family.

Ryan Creighton

SALES DIRECTOR - CAIRNS

Ryan Creighton started in the Hire and Rental Industry in 2004, as a Sales Manager. He then moved to Mackay in 2005 to concentrate on rentals in the Bowen basin, and have a sales focus on the growing Coal Mine Industry. After two and half years in Mackay, Ryan moved back to Townsville and his sales role was focusing on the Cairns and North Western parts of Queensland.

Tony Martin

GENERAL MANAGER - BRISBANE

Starting as General Manager with Height 4 Hire in January 2020, Tony has worked in the hire industry for 5 years. Tony’s role is shared between overseeing the Operational aspects of the Business as well as looking at the more strategic opportunities.

This role has become more important with joining of forces between Height 4 Hire and Global Hire and Services.

Tony brings many years of Government and Private Sector management and leadership experience to the business.

When not at work, Tony still enjoys playing cricket, spending time with family and friends and camping.

Chris Barnett

North Queensland OPERATIONS MANAGER

Chris Barnett has been working in the hire industry since 2006. He commenced his role with Global Hire as Townsville Branch Manager in 2011 and has extensive knowledge of access equipment and the hire industry. He is committed to delivering practical solutions to his customers’ requirements and prides himself on providing exceptional customer service in all aspects of the equipment hire business.

Brad Toplis

Brad Toplis has worked in the industry for 3 years, starting off as a Sales Representative and now the Townsville Branch Manager. Brad loves the challenge of organising and and managing the fleet and team at the Townsville branch, working alongside some great local businesses in the region.

When not at work, Brad loves playing golf at Rowes Bay and family time with his two daughters.

Dave Turner

SERVICE manager - NORTH QUEENSLAND

Dave Turner started in the hire industry at Global in March 2024 but came from 19 years experience working within the heavy earthmoving industry. Dave is dedicated and focused on providing safe, efficient and cost-effective service and support to customers across North Queensland.

His role entails ensuring Global's workshops are run effectively and safely to provide our customers with exceptional service, and safe and reliable equipment.

Michael James

sales MANAGER

Michael James comes from over 20 years of experience in the hire industry, first starting as a Hire Controller in 2002. After learning the ins and outs of the industry, moved to Area Sales Manager and had worked at Global Hire since 2017, as a Sales Manager.

He works alongside local businesses throughout North Queensland to supply them with top customer service and reliable equipment for their jobs. When not at work, Michael loves spending time with his family, fishing, and camping.

Beau Kennedy

Branch Manager - Cairns

Beau Kennedy began his career in the general hire industry in 2005 in Darwin, after many years in general hire in Darwin Beau made his way across the border to Cairns where he secured a position with Global Hire & Services.

Through Beau’s years of experience, he was quickly able to demonstrate his abilities in the hire industry and after a short time assumed the role of Cairns Branch Manager.

Together with Beau’s years of extensive hire industry experience and management attributes he has created local team that support our far northern region.
